My Story of Success by Nyasha Makore #hlfAT20 #TOTM

As part of the Higherlife Foundation 20TH Anniversary celebration we have invited all past and present beneficiaries to send us their testimony of how they have been positively impacted by Higherlife Foundation over the past 20 years. The stories we have been receiving are amazing, some very touching. Our testimony of the month for April 2016 is from Nyasha Makore, (4th year, 2nd semester) Media and Society Studies student, Midlands State University. We loved this story, hope you do too. Here it goes.

Born in the remote area of Zvimba, Nyasha never dreamt that she would one day attend university, yet from her humble beginnings today stands as a student, level 4.2 at Midlands State University (MSU). When God says YES no man can say no. Faced with a great dilemma, having passed her O level with flying colors, Nyasha’s future looked bleak.

I really have been transformed greatly by my association with the scholarship-par-excellence Higherlife Foundation is. I did not just gain a scholarship and eventually a degree, I gained a family. “THANK YOU HIGHERLIFE FOUNDATION.”

My academic endeavors were almost shattered because of financial constraints in my family. However, heavens opened for me when Capernaum Trust patrons (Mama and Baba Masiyiwa) found me and subsequently invested in me financially and spiritually. A new chapter in my life began, a chapter without an end. I became a “History maker,” involved in many activities with other Midlands State University History Makers, which did not only enhance my academic ambitions but also edified my spiritual life.

History Makers are a very loving family. Excellence is revered around here, but it’s not just the excellence of perfect scores and straight “As” or distinctions. It’s excellence in characters, excellence in integrity, excellence in responsive leadership and spiritual direction. We are afforded the opportunity to learn what most people never will and our futures are almost guaranteed as we are armed to get out into the world and ensure continuity in our distinctions. I believe History Makers will not just adorn the walls with certificates, Diplomas and Degrees; we are being prepared to graduate from the school of life, with distinctions and badges of HONOUR.

I realize that God is never blind, but he is mindful and is always watching on our lives. Through Doctor and Deaconess Masiyiwa, God opened an unforgettable door, a memorable situation indeed. As God almighty is mindful of man, may he focus his attention on the visionaries, Doctor and Deaconess Masiyiwa. May God do exploits that the world can recognize, that it is not over until God says it’s over.
