In the words of the Greek-Roman biographer, Plutarch, the mind is not a vessel for us to merely fill but its potential has to be unleashed. In lieu of this wisdom, we have to spend more time investing in igniting our students’ creativity, imagination, critical thinking and problem solving skills.
As Higherlife Foundation we believe in the power of our young people’s potential to change the world. For the past 2 years we have facilitated an online mentorship platform providing online training, mentoring and coaching to young people to become the leaders Africa and the world needs. Our mentorship aims to ignite our young people’s dynamic minds so that they are more than able to tackle the problems our continent is facing through innovative solutions.

We are not only in Zimbabwe but we are in Burundi, Lesotho, Swaziland and the United States of America to ensure that these young people have access to life changing information; engage with amazing change makers and leaders and they learn how to stand out through creativity and critical thinking in this fast moving digital world. To date we have reached over 200 000 young people with the kind of mentorship.
We did not stop with mentorship, we saw that the way students learn also had to change to really go with the changing tide of the digital era. We are dealing with a generation which is growing up in a world that never knew a time without computers after all! We decided to make the learning experience more captivating for our 21st century learners and created Ruzivo Smart Learning- an interactive e-learning platform that offers students amazing learning material that challenges their minds with each exercise.

We cannot afford to give every student a private tutor to help them understand concepts on a deeper level, so we created a platform that enables us to reach students in the most disadvantaged school and gave them their own tutor!
Ruzivo is a platform designed with the 21st Century learner in mind by igniting their imagination, and instilling a love of learning through interactive exercises that cover a wide spectrum of subjects in the Zimbabwean curricula. The platform allows the student to actively engage with various concepts at their own pace. In a classroom a teacher might have 50 children who understand at different paces but only gets half to fully understand the concept, as they have limited time and resources.
Whereas a teacher or tutor might get tired of explaining the same concept over and over, a computer or smart device will not get tired of showing the same explainer diagram or video over and over again until the student grasps the concept and is ready to move on.
