There is little doubt that we are currently living in the age of technology. Technology has immersed itself in our lives and made our lives convenient and easier. Its sphere of influence can be felt in every possible field; one such field is education.
In education, technology has revolutionized the way people approach learning and teaching. Through devices such as laptops, smart boards, projectors, tablets and personal computers, technology is having a positive impact on education. Over the years technological innovations have led to the digital content revolution that is shaping education today and will continue to impact the way the next generations learn.

Throughout its initiatives, Higherlife Foundation has harnessed the power of technology to scale up its work to provide children with quality education and better opportunities to grow into 21st century leaders that can put Africa on the map. Through the Muzinda Hub, Higherlife Foundation is creating real opportunities through technology by providing digital skills education to over 1 000 local Zimbabweans.

With technology students can learn at their own pace through e-books and learning apps and with the way technology keeps changing with each day, it is clear how learning will be impacted even more in the future. Mobile technology such as tablets which have touch and gesture properties allow children as young as three years to intuitively navigate around and learn basic education.

Through its partnership with Simba Education, Higherlife Foundation has through mobile technology created a one of a kind web based platform that ensures access to quality early childhood education. Through this platform young children ages 0 to 6years get the opportunity to get a competitive start to life.

Technology has also enhanced learning across boundaries through the creation of learning communities in which students are able to connect with their educators and peers in completely different locations and get the educational support they need. Educational limitations are being overcome creating new learning experiences for learners.

With the automation of traditional ways of learning by technology, the future will see the role of the teacher changing more and more to becoming that of a guide or curator. Through gamification of educational content, the future will also see more and more students engaging more and having emotional connections; with their learning material.

Through technology, with its Ruzivo digital learning platform- an innovative technological solution- that is bringing a new blended learning approach to Zimbabwean primary and secondary school education, Higherlife Foundation has harnessed the power of technology to do all of the aforementioned. Through this online digital learning platform, Higherlife Foundation is overcoming educational limitations by making quality education more accessible to a larger group of students who ideally have limited access in Zimbabwe.

The sustainable, low cost, high quality education model has through gamification made students engage more with their curricula ensuring better learning experiences and academic results for students in Zimbabwe.

Ruzivo smart learning has also enhanced learning across boundaries by creating learning communities that enable learners to connect with their educators and peers. By allowing students to access the platform anywhere, at any time through smart devices such as tablets, Ruzivo is breaking the physical barriers that inhibited access to quality learning. Students now have the opportunity to learn at their own pace and teachers can guide them through the exercises.

Higherlife Foundation will continue to leverage technology to positively impact the future of education in Africa. For more on the Ruzivo online interactive digital learning platform please visit: www.ruzivodigitallearning.co.zw
