Recently Higherlife Foundation partnered with Global Shapers- a network of Hubs developed and led by exceptional young people driven to make a contribution to their communities- to host a financial literacy workshop for Harare Junior Parliamentarians. The workshop which was held at Steward Bank Innovation Hub in Harare, focused on equipping the young leaders with financial literacy skills that are part of the 21st Century essential skills for employability success.

The workshop which was done in line with Higherlife Foundation’s commitment to the all-round development of young students by providing them with essential life skills and guidance on how to become responsible leaders that Africa needs to prosper, saw close to 50 junior parliamentarians from different schools across Harare attend.

Renowned financial expert Mr Gabriel Chipara who is known for his thought provoking and insightful financial prowess, was the key note speaker at the workshop. The Founder/Managing Director –of Mantis Africa (Pvt) Ltd, stressed the importance of financial education to the young generation as it helps ensure the financial wellness of the youth and communities as a whole.
In his words to the Junior Parliamentarians, Mr Chipara highlighted the need for them to start learning about money early as it is vital to their future success. “The youth today must be told to start early,” expressed Mr. Chipara.

Throughout his speech to the young leaders, Mr Chipara advocated for young entrepreneurism by saving and having more than one source of income as it allows for greater financial security and freedom that are vital to the one’s life success.

“You need to go beyond employment and start making income by investing the little you have,” stressed Mr Chipara.
Through “Muzinda Hub” – a tech entrepreneurial hub- Higherlife Foundation, is currently cultivating the entrepreneurship spirit of many young Zimbabweans.
