  • Higherlife Foundation Mentor named the ironman of Zimbabwe TV and radio

As Higherlife Foundation we believe in young people. We believe that young people are the future and so through our mentorship platform we build the young people into the leaders that can change the future. Through our mentorship we bring together, young leaders who are asking questions and looking at their purpose in life with professionals in Zimbabwe who are game changers and successful in their chosen industries.

Recently one of our mentors, radio talk show personality and TV anchor McDonald Gurura, was recognized as the ‘most valiant personality both on television and radio’ by popular newspaper, the Standard. Known for his passion for helping people discover and unleash purposeful lives, Mr Gurura became a mentor to give young Zimbabweans the opportunity to learn from his successes and experiences and grow their own success in their career.

Inducted into the 2013 Gorindemambwe Trust most influential Zimbabweans under the age of 40, Mr Gurura believes in seizing opportunities and is a budding entrepreneur whose knowledge and passion for reaching his God given potential inspires many Higherlife Foundation beneficiaries to go for their dreams and become informed and socially responsible entrepreneurs that can move Zimbabwe forward. “I am at that point in my life where I am primarily focused on my passion and on my purpose,”says Gurura.
The main anchor of a national bulletin in Zimbabwe, McDonald Gurura is also a firm believer in branding particularly building one’s own brand. “Try keep the integrity of your brand and persona so that when you have something to say, people will listen,” expresses Gurura.

Thanks to professionals like Mcdonald, Higherlife Foundation provides over 60 000 mentorship hours annually to young people; in the hope of accelerating the personal and professional development of over 2 million future African leaders by 2020.
At Higherlife Foundation we believe in developing the next generation of leaders whose personal brand includes a positive mindset with the right mix of integrity and morals. Currently we are increasing our scope of mentorship because we believe that in mentorship you raise a generation of leaders. We developed a mentorship app that offers young people the opportunity to engage even more with their mentors on a daily basis. We have also gone to provide platforms of empowering our young people through sponsorship of events such as the upcoming Innovate Elevate Youth Conference that will feature world class speakers and influencers that will inspire our young people to step up and become the leaders we want to move Africa forward.
