For the past 20 years, Strive and Tsitsi Masiyiwa have been impacting lives in African communities and through Higherlife Foundation they are committed to impacting 2 million children with education by 2020.
Tsitsi Masiyiwa is a philanthropist and social entrepreneur devoted to empowering young people in Africa through technology-enabled access to quality education and leadership development. Mrs Masiyiwa leads the Higherlife Foundation, which she founded 20 years ago together with her husband, Strive Masiyiwa.
The Higherlife Foundation offers scholarships to orphaned and vulnerable children and extends local and international merit-based scholarships to highly gifted students. The Foundation also facilitates continuous personal and professional development.
Strive Masiyiwa, the chairman and founder of Econet, a diversified telecommunications group, is the Co-Founder of Higherlife Foundation. As London-based African philanthropist, Strive Masiyiwa and his wife Tsitsi Masiyiwa founded Higherlife Foundation in 1996.
Strive Masiyiwa also serves on a number of international boards, including the Rockefeller Foundation, the Africa Against Ebola Solidarity Trust, the Council on Foreign Relations’ Global Advisory Board, the Africa Progress Panel, the UN Secretary General’s Advisory Board for Sustainable Energy, Morehouse College and the Hilton Foundation’s Humanitarian Prize Jury.
