1 in 3 women and girls experience violence in their lifetime. This must stop!

This International Day For The Elimination Of Violence Against Women which also marks the start of #16DaysofActivism against Gender-Based Violence, Higherlife Foundations stands with  #OrangeTheWorld: End Violence against women and girls.

We believe that when you empower a girl or woman, she becomes a catalyst for positive change. Our programs promote gender equality and champion inclusive and open societies where women and girls are protected from violence and empowered to fully participate and make meaningful contributions to their families, communities and nations. “One thing that I have learned through our work — and it is so clear to me — is that if we want to shift the needle on poverty, we must invest in women and girls,” Higherlife Foundation Co-Chair and Co-Founder Mrs Tsitsi Masiyiwa.

Violence – in all its forms – can have an impact on a woman’s health and well-being throughout the rest of her life – even long after the violence may have ended. “A future without violence against women is possible with education, essential services across policing, justice, health, and social sectors, and sufficient financing dedicated to women’s rights!” UN

As Higherlife we will remain committed to empowering women and girls through sustained interventions and efforts; improving access to opportunities and services for women and girls.
