Harare, Zimbabwe (21 January 2020) – As Higherlife Foundation we understand that building healthy and resilient communities in Zimbabwe is only possible when patients receive quality healthcare and attention from our medical institutions. This requires our hospitals to have doctors available to attend to the various health needs across the nation.  

Putting the patient first, we are furthering our commitment to supporting our healthcare system and enabling more people to receive the critical care they need and deserve, by announcing, the reopening of the Higherlife Foundation Fellowship for all doctors employed at Public Healthcare Institutions in the country with immediate effect.

The Fellowship first announced on 27 November 2019 has seen over 300 doctors sign up and is already ensuring the smooth delivery of healthcare at various medical institutions in the country.

With this in mind, HLF is inviting the following doctors who are working in public healthcare institutions in Zimbabwe to apply for the Fellowship:

  • Consultants
  • Senior Registrars
  • Junior Registrars
  • Provincial Medical Directors (PMD)
  • Government Medical Officers (GMO) and District Medical Officers (DMO)
  • Senior House Officers (SHO)
  • Senior Resident Medical Officers (SRMO)
  • Junior Resident Medical Officers (JRMO)

The Fellowship offers:

A1. Senior Consultants

  1. Duration: Six (6) months
  2. A non-negotiable monthly subsistence allowance of ZWL$10,000 (Ten thousand Zimbabwean Dollars) for the duration of the fellowship

A2. Registrars, PMDs, GMOs, DMOs, SHOs

  1. Duration: Six (6) months
  2. A non-negotiable monthly subsistence allowance of ZWL$7,500 (Seven thousand five hundred Zimbabwean Dollars) for the duration of the fellowship
  3. A VAYA carpool voucher for
    1. use on normal working days
    1. access to hospitals whilst on call

A3. SRMOs and JRMOs

  1. Duration: Six (6) months
  2. A non-negotiable monthly subsistence allowance of ZWL$5,000 (Five thousand Zimbabwean Dollars) for the duration of the fellowship
  3. A VAYA carpool voucher for
  4. use on normal working days
  5. access to hospitals whilst on call

All interested individuals are invited to obtain an application form and submit their applications, with proof of their employment to the nearest Higherlife Foundation office. Higherlife Foundation offices are found in: Harare, Bulawayo, Chinhoyi, Gweru, Masvingo and Mutare

Applications open Tuesday 21 January 2020 and close at 5pm on Friday 24 January 2020.

NO LATE SUBMISSIONS WILL BE ENTERTAINED.

Successful applicants will be advised between 27 January – 30 January 2020 with the Fellowship expected to commence on 1 February 2020.

Doctors who are already part of the Fellowship do not need to reapply.

***No block applications or consultations with special interest groups (associations, political parties, clubs, etc) or third parties will be considered or entertained.
