The Global Gender Report states that it would take 132 years for the global gender gap to be covered. The period is almost equal to two times the life expectancy of an average African woman. However, despite the glaring gap, some visionary Africans have decided to roll up their sleeves to trim the disparities.

Our Co-Founder Tsitsi Masiyiwa is one of the champions who have worked tirelessly to minimise the gender gap on the continent. She sits on the board of Co-Impact, a philanthropic collaborative, and recently launched the Africa Gender Initiative, which plans to raise $50 million within the next few years to support Co-Impact’s $1 billion gender fund.

In a recent interview with Quartz, Mrs Masiyiwa explains the motivation behind the work she does to mitigate the effects of gender inequality.
